Perfect Photographs

Snap happy: Incredibly, Jeffries isn't a professional photographerPost-production: Jeffries enhances the photographs afterwards

Just look at these images, such beautiful details of harsh situations. Lee Jeffries is not a professional photographer but he has skill and these pictures are the perfect example of perfect photography in my eyes. I love portrait photography, wrinkles and imperfections make a photo.

I looked at these photos as part of my 'Scale' brief for creative concepts which I chosen to do the 'Poverty Scale'

Long time, no blogging

Hello!

PHOAR, been so busy with college work, my jobs, social life and family time that I've not particularly focused on keeping y'all up to date. SORRY XOXO

In college things have been going really well so far! Passed Creative Concepts; the first part which has really boosted my confidence and thirst for more project work. Negative and positive space assessment in drawing went well too so all is well.

We got our new brief for Creative Concepts which is 'Scale' and I have decided to base my research on 'The Prince and the Pauper' (aka the rich and the poor). I'm VERY interested in this subject but almost too energetic and excited about the whole thing so I need to calm down and focus.

Plodding along through specialist skills after my fainting episode I've really felt on edge in  the workshop, hard to explain but its like I am afraid that it will all happen all over again.

So overall I feel as if I am doing well in the course, everything is going to plan so far. Just TIME is all that I really am struggling to grasp. Its just running away from me in every aspect of life BUT I will soldier on.

I WILL GRADUATE WITH MY ART DEGREE AND MAKE MEGA BUCKS

Queen of all the land.

Week beginning September 30th

Bonjour!

Major apologies for the delay in getting this post up on my blog but I'd clicked 'Save' instead of 'Publish' - rookie mistake.

Anyway, this week on Monday in study skills we were actually taught how to set these blogs up which we could document are progress throughout our degree program which I thought was a fantastic idea. As I like to keep a diary about certain things, blogging comes naturally plus it helps me remember all my crazy ideas and processes. Once we'd set up our blogs it was lunchtime - which was followed by drawing class. This weeks we were continuing on from what we did last week which was making our positive and negative sketchbook work and making them into abstract A1 size drawings.

Within my own time I had decided to do more studies on positive and negative space by taking pictures of the college  (as positives) and converting them on Photoshop into negatives. I had struggled to understand fully how you draw negatives space therefore this process helped me get the gist of what I was expected to be doing!

On Tuesday, we began the day without a tutor - Alison had hurt her back and couldn't make it into college therefore the class took it upon ourselves to continue with our research and sketchbook work which enabled me to gain time I had lost to work on the sketchbook at home due to work commitments. Next up, after break we had creative concepts where I spent most of the two hours drawing up several different imaginative fruits. Then, after lunch it was the second block of creative concepts where I took the time to go up to the library to do further research into habitats and seed dispersal methods that my imaginative fruits could make use of.

On Wednesday we had no college and I spent the day working on my sketchbook, although I didn't create any more pages I spent a lot of time annotating what I had already done in order to allow myself to understand where I was when it came to each class brief. Then, Thursday I had work - all day so it was straight to bed after dinner.

Friday's first class was a guest lecture which I found intriguing and informative, so much so that when I went home after work I spent hours just Googling most aspects brought up. Final class on Friday was Specialist Skills in which we made felt - and worked on our arm muscles. The felt making process was very fun although I thought I'd have no issues (last time I was allergic to the paste) but sadly I've Carpel Tunnel which means that the 400 rolls we had to do was pretty painful! Aw well! After college it was straight back to work.

Saturday - work
Sunday - work

tah tah for now

Who am I?

Bonjour!
My name is Rebecca and I am currently studying a BA Art and Design course at college and this is what my blog is all about. It's a little insight into each experience I have related to the art industry that enriches my knowledge and thirst for more!
So far so good! I'm successfully juggling college, two jobs and a social life!
By the end of this course I hope to have a better idea of where I want to go in life, because I'm pretty sure 'being a Princess' is impossible..
So there we go, a brief blurb on my current college situation.
I bid you all farewell for now, and will be blogging at least once a week!
